Step 1: Retainer Ozval in Lake Nerius

How it starts:

Say “Hail”:

Welcome, adventurer, to the domain of the noble House Everling. I see that you have received our Lord's missive. These are [dark times], and your aid might make a real difference here.

Say “dark times”:

As you have read in my Lord's letter, tragedy has struck his great family. [Peril] lies before you, and we must confirm that you are prepared to face these terrors before allowing you to go further.

Say “Peril”:

Before we discuss this any further, there is something you must do for my Lord. As if he hadn't lost enough already, Lord Everling has found himself without the Signet Ring of his house. He makes regular pilgrimages to the stele above Lake Nerius where he pays his respects to his poor sisters. On one such journey, the ring slipped from his grasp. He could do nothing but watch as it tumbled down the hillside and into the lake. I task you to retrieve the ring and bring it to me. Then we'll see about getting you an audience within his castle.

This is the Lord's ring! It appears that it has suffered incredible damage, however. The bold blue jewel that once adorned it is gone, and its setting shattered. I must ask that you travel to the faraway city of Felwithe, to the Shop of All Holos. A merchant working there owes our family a great debt, and perhaps he can begin to pay it down by providing us with his finest sapphire. You'll also need to contact a tinker in Ak'Anon who has found himself in a similar financial situation. He'll have what we need to set the stone properly.

Yes, these are precisely the items I was looking for. I trust you had no difficulty acquiring them. House Everling has a way of always finding favorable trade arrangements. Now, there's just one more thing we'll need. This one may prove to be a bit more challenging, but I am confident in your resourcefulness. You are to travel to the Plane of Hate itself. Scour this realm, search every forsaken building if you must, and find the High Priestess of Ulkorruuk. She alone can provide what the final component necessary to restore the enchantments the ring once bore. Take care not to wind up in the void-touched Plane of Hate, where Innoruuk himself has been rumored to be sequestered. Ulkorruuk avoids that place, and so should you.

Step 5: High Priestess of Ulkorruuk in The Plane of Hate

Asked after “Hail, High Priestess of Ulkorruuk”:
You would only find yourself before me if you were ready to [swear] your life to the divine Ulkorruuk, our Lady of Betrayal. Is this so?

Step 6: Retainer Ozval in Lake Nerius

Answers the hand-in:
Retainer Ozval holds the damaged ring in his hand and reads aloud the words of the Betrayer. Though his voice speaks in some strange tongue, the chill that it sends down your spine communicates one thing clearly: the entity you have sworn yourself to is capable of unspeakable acts. There is a flash of cold light in Ozval's hand, and the ring has clearly been transformed in some way. He carefully sets the sapphire into the ring and speaks to you once more. 'You have performed a service to Lord Everling and proven your tenacity. Travel north along this road to Nektropos Castle. Within, you will meet the Lord, and he will personally direct you further.'
