Mote Drops

How often a mob's corpse holds a Mote of Potential, from 30104 corpses looted in the 27 zones where motes have dropped, 1772 motes among them. Reward chests are left out. Mobs with more classes drop motes far more often, and mobs below the player's level far less; the instance's difficulty sets the mote's grade. The figures will be refined as more data is collected.

Instances Difficulty

Drop chance by level difference

The share of corpses that held a mote, by how many levels the mob stood above the player who killed it (rows) and how many classes it had (columns). Hover a figure for the share of each grade. Figures from fewer than 20 corpses are dimmed.

Where motes drop most

Zones and difficulties with at least 40 corpses looted, ranked by motes per hundred corpses; click a heading to rank by another column. Motes per hour count the time between one corpse and the next there, gaps over ten minutes left out as breaks or travel, so a zone whose mobs die fast ranks higher by the hour. A zone's rates depend on its mobs and their classes, and on the levels of the players who killed them.
